I’m a qualified Person-Centred counsellor. From time-to-time we can all struggle with life’s difficulties. It’s my job to listen to you with warmth and care. I work with you at whatever pace you choose and feel comfortable with. I aim to provide a safe space where you can to talk about your life circumstances, thoughts and feelings. I will meet you where you are at in life and empower you to go where you want to be.
I started my journey to become a counsellor in 2013 at Doncaster College and qualified in 2017. I completed my studies with two placements, one at a Carers Centre and the other at a Parent/Carers Forum. Once qualified I stayed on with the Parent/Carers Forum to become their Counselling Coordinator. In my time there I worked with a wonderful team of counsellors and developed a children and young person counselling service, as well as a specialist post diagnostic counselling service for newly diagnosed autistic and ADHD adults. As much as I loved my time at the Parent/Carers Forum, I felt it was time for a new chapter to my life and transitioned to my online private practice in 2023.
I’m a believer in that clients need different things at different times. I undertake continual professional and personal development (CPD), to ensure my skillset is always up to date and that I am aware of the latest thinking in the field. This means I can offer clients a refreshed and wider spectrum of potential strategies to work with. I’m happy to supply a full list of all CPD, however below is a list of recent CPD:
In my professional and personal experience, counselling is usually most helpful when you feel comfortable with your counsellor. For that to happen most people need to know a little bit about their counsellor to humanise them. I have complied a one-page profile which you can read here, if you would like to. However, a short descriptor I give about myself is; I’m a Neuroqueer counsellor that loves Halloween, books and boardgames. I’m also the servant to a cat and the waterer of 18 plants.
